Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), home to breathtaking mountains, fertile valleys, and vital river systems, is one of the most ecologically diverse yet climate-vulnerable regions of Pakistan. In recent years, the province has faced rising climate threats — from devastating floods and glacial retreat to deforestation and water scarcity. These challenges not only threaten livelihoods but also demand urgent, localized, and youth-led climate solutions.
At the heart of KPK lies a resilient and determined generation ready to lead this change. To empower and connect these voices, the Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) – Peshawar Chapter is being held under the global YOUNGO framework, recognized by the UNFCCC. It aims to provide an inclusive platform for youth to engage in climate dialogue, shape regional climate priorities, and influence national policy through collective action.
This year’s chapter will feature interactive workshops, panel discussions, youth declarations, and networking opportunities with climate leaders, experts, and policymakers.
