Syeda Amnah Batool appreciated NYCCC’s efforts to engage young people in climate action and highlighted that Young people are central to Pakistan’s sustainable future. Through initiatives such as the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, we must empower them with the skills, opportunities and institutional support needed to turn their ideas into meaningful climate action.
Shahida Parveen, UN Women Pakistan
Shahida Parveen emphasised the importance of inclusive climate governance and meaningful participation by women, persons with disabilities, transgender persons and other marginalised communities. She called for climate action to be truly effective unless it is inclusive. Women, young people and marginalised communities must have equal opportunities to participate in decision-making, shape climate policies and contribute to building a more resilient Pakistan.

She underscored that building climate resilience requires investment in young people’s capacities, leadership and innovation. By connecting youth with academia, farmers, entrepreneurs and local institutions, we can create green livelihood opportunities and develop solutions that respond to communities’ real needs.
